Meet Our Team

Maria Milis

Fixed Income

What’s your role at Barrenjoey?

I work in our Fixed Income team and cover institutional investors and government across their cash bonds and interest rate management needs. My specific area of focus is across the credit and securitisation markets and I work closely with our Corporate Finance teams in the placement of debt capital.

What did you do before joining Barrenjoey?

I have worked in fixed income and derivative markets for over 20 years with previous roles at Westpac, UBS, Bankers Trust and Macquarie Bank. I was lucky enough to take a career break when my kids were young and lived in Paris and Dubai for nearly seven years.

What do you do when you’re not at work?

I live near the beach so I try to go for a swim every day. It is my connection to nature. Beyond that, I am usually planning my next trip to Greece with three teenagers – fingers crossed for next year.
